The habeas corpus case.

--Judge Lyons yesterday pronounced his opinion in this case. He entered into an able and elaborate review of the law and the evidence, cited authorities in abundance, and arrived at the conclusion that the prayer of the petitioner ought not to be granted. Mr. Webster was therefore remanded to the custody of his officers.

We understand that the petitioner's counsel asked and obtained leave to file a bill of exceptions to the opinion of the court. The case will thus as we intimated last week, go before a higher tribunal.
