We had supposed that the refinements of crucify could not add to the burden of wrongs and cruelties which have been heaped upon her by the oppressor. But the shocking crimes which have been perpetrated upon women by the rabble of New York under Dan. Sickles fill the cup of agony and shame to overflowing. In the name of common humanity and justice, can the South look upon such unspeakable woe inflicted because of friendship for the Southern cause and refuse to raise an arm for her relief?
