To the voters of the counties

of Hanover, Henrico, Charles City, New Kent, Elizabeth City, James City, and York, and the Cities of Richmond and Williamsburg:

In response to a call made on me in the public press and in private letters, I announce myself a candidate to represent you in the House of Representatives of the Confederate Congress.

Although the active operations of the campaign will not cease in time for me to visit you before the election, yet I have no reason to suppose that they with interfere with the discharge of my duties as your representative in Congress, should it be your pleasure to call me to that body. In such event, I shall endeavor to represent you with intelligence and fidelity. Geo. W. Randolph.
