--We have for some time omitted to allude to the new and elegant office of the Virginia Fire and Marine Insurance Company, recently built by them on the site of the residence of the late Cashier of the Bank of Virginia, and next tenement east of that Bank.--This move has been decidedly appropriate; not only in point of economy, but of their own comfort and that of the public and their numerous friends. They have at the same time done something for the city by so handsome an improvement, and by thus linking their own prosperity with her's.

This old and successful company has been for thirty years in the hands of a Directory and officers of long experience in their business, and have been chosen from among our most substantial and worthy citizens.
