, registered on the book as ‘"the worst boy in town,"’ was committed to jail for attempting to steal a roll of cassimere, valued at $32, from J. B. Fergusson

William J. Summerville
appeared to answer a charge of disturbing the peace of the city on Friday night by firing a pistol in the street, and his antecedents being somewhat peculiar, the Mayor
required $200 security for his fature good behavior, and $200 more to secure his presence at the Hustings Court.
Mary J. Hampton
, a white woman, was committed to jail for vagrancy.
, free woman of color, without a register, received the usual flagellation for drunkenness and disorderly conduct.
, slave of Thos. J. West
, arrested for going at large, was committed.
Frank, slave of W. B. Ross
& Co., got 20 stripes for stealing a pair of chickens; and Gabriel, slave of E. S. Turpin
, the same punishment for stealing a pair of shoes.
