The Federal prisoners transferred hence to Charleston were confined until within a few days peat in Castle Pluckney, but have now been removed to a jail in the city.
It is the purpose of General Repley, the commander of the poll, to place the fort in a condition to take any emergency that may arise in the presence of the war.
