Fatal Accident.

--The Fayette (Jefferson county, Miss.) Gazette, of October 29, says:

‘ While the children of Mrs. Mary Beard, whose husband is now in the army of the Potomac, were at play in the porch of her residence near Fayette, on last Sunday evening, the 20th instant, her little daughter Alice, about two years old, was accidentally shot by her brother, Francis Beard, about 12 years old. Francis was carelessly handling a small pistol loaded with one buck- shot, which was discharged in his hand, the ball striking the head and penetrating the brain of the child. The little sufferer lingered about eight hours and died.
