--The Vicksburg (Miss.) Whig, October 31, says:

‘ "A man offered a negro, a few days since, one dollar and fifty cents per day wages to go out on the railroad to work, which the negro a accepted, but when he got the negro out of the city, he cocked his gun and ordered the negro to march in the direction of the jail to claim the foe of six dollars for taking up a runaway."
