Destructive fire at St. Louis.

--The extensive hemp factory of John C. Bull, at St. Louis, was destroyed by fire on Thursday morning last, involving a loss of over $100,000. The New says: The fire originated in the fourth story of the building, in what is technically known as the "Rocker-room," and the first intimation that the occupants of the lower floors had it was the dense and suffocating volume of smoke and flame that poured out from the windows above.

A scenes of indescribable confusion and terror ensued among the large number of employees in the lower rooms — some two hundred, a great proportion being children — and a simultaneous and wild stampede followed. Without waiting to obtain any portion of their clothing, &c., the occupants succeeded in making a speedy exit from the building.
