The cotton gin of the estate of O. N. Ogden, of Alexandria, Rapides Parish La., together with the crop of cotton gathered and stored there, was destroyed by fire a few days since. A letter from a Mobile factor, published in the West Alabamian, states that the supply of salt there is ample, though prices are disproportionately high. This was when it was $4.25 a sack. The Yankees arrested Wm. Boons, near Cinthiana, Ky., last week. He was falsely charged with attempting to burn a barn, but his real crime was his being a ‘"Secesher."’ The dwelling of Mr. H. B Whitaker, near Raleigh, N. C., was consumed by fire on Saturday night last.
