Wholesale Desertion of English soldiers.

--The Buffalo Commercial says that a gentleman who arrived from Toronto Tuesday evening, where he had resided since May, states that out of the thousand English soldiers recently stationed at that place, nearly six hundred have deserted. He relates instances where the men left in squads. Many were retaken, but the majority managed to escape.
