--Among the prisoners brought to Richmond
at various times since the commencement of hostilities, are a considerable number of Lincolnites, who have vegetated on the soil of Virginia
and made themselves infamous by affording aid and comfort to the enemy.
The recent investigations have sustained the allegations in many instances, but the Government
has ordered the release of twenty-three, who are now at liberty to return to their homes, if they have any, or join the Southern
army, as they may severally elect.
