Death of an officer.

We learn with regret that Second Lieutenant George H. Sutherlin, of the Cabell Guards, Thirty- eighth Virginia Regiment, died recently. The company held a meeting at their encampment near Centreville on the 23d inst., and passed suitable resolutions of respect to his memory. Lieut. S. was among the earliest to volunteer, at Danville, in the service of his country, and proved an efficient officer. His family has the sympathy of many friends in their bereavement.
