Fatal accident.

--At an early hour yesterday morning an old negro man named William, owned by Dr. Parker, went to the Doctor's office, in the Law Building for the purpose of lighting a fire. The outer steps, in the rear, were slippery with ice; and the servant fell from the top of the flight to the ground, a distance of some fifteen feet, and was killed instantly. This old man had accumulated a considerable sum of money — about $225--but none of it could be found after his death. For some reason not yet explained to us, it is suspected that the money was stolen by a negro named Albert, the property of P. H. Russell, and he was accordingly taken into custody. The matter will probably be investigated by the Mayor this morning.
