A bill refunding to James H Burdette
the amount of a license tax erroneously paid into the Treasury.
A bill authorizing the Commissioner
of the Revenue for the Southern District of Hall
fax county, to issue a licence to David Apt as a hawker and pedlar in said county.-- (Senate bill.)
Leave to introduce bills.

, asked leave to introduce a till as a substitute for the bill for raising Virginia
's quota for the Confederate army; and that it may be printed.

on Finance and Claims, reported that said committee had under consideration the resolution on the subject of refunding to John S. Lacy
, sheriff of New Kent county
, the damages paid into the Treasury upon three executions upon judgments recovered against him by the Common wealth, and the committee report that it is inexpedient to grant the relief therein sought.

, suggesting to the Senate that it was improbable that the most important of the bills before the Senate could be taken up to-day, moved that the Senate do now adjourn; whereupon, at 1 o'clock, P. M., the Senate adjourned.
