North Carolinians at Roanoke Island.

In compliance with the request of a Raleigh correspondent, we have made inquiries concerning the North Carolina regiments on Roanoke Island. There were three incomplete regiments belonging to that State, at the time of the fight, on the island, but not generally engaged. We are informed that a few of the men made their escape, but the majority were taken prisoners.
