Gene to the Penitentiary.

--Deputy Sergeant James L. Bray yesterday conveyed "Col." Wm. N. Miller to the Penitentiary, to which institution a jury in Judge Lyons's Court had sent him the day previous, for swindling and forgery. On his conviction. Thursday he moved for a new trial, which was overruled. He concluded yesterday not to file a bill of exceptions, but go down under the pressure of adverse circumstances.
