A Model Yankee soldier.

--One of the most daring robberies on record was perpetrated in St. Lois on Thursday, March 27. Sergeant C. W. Redman, of company H, 3d Missouri volunteers, succeeded in procuring a detail of eight soldiers by a more verbal demand, pretending that he was acting under pressing orders from Gen. Hallock; went to the banking- house of G. S. Hammer & Co., and placing Mr. Hammer under arrest, proceeded to strip the safe and desks of money — in all, over $2,200. Just as he was leaving the city he was arrested, but at last accounts only about $700 of the money had been recovered.
