Important from Tennessee

--A dispatch from Nashville, dated May 23, to the Northern press, shows that there is life in that city yet:

‘ An election was held in the State yesterday for judicial officers. The vote in Nashville stood for Circuit Judge, Brian (Union), 570; Foster (Secessionist), 708. The secessionists generally voted. The Union men rarely voted, regarding the election as invalid.

Governor Johnson will give no commission to the secessionists elected.

The President and Cashier of the Bank of the Union were arrested yesterday, by order of Governor Johnson, on the charge of treason.

The town of has been for 812 63 by the Provost Marshal, to compensate a Union merchant for goods seized by Mar. troops.
