Arrival of arms from Europe.

--We have information, on authority that cannot be doubted, that two vessels arrived at a Confederate port, on Saturday last, with 4,000 stand of arms on one, and 3,500 on the other, and one hundred barrels of powder — and, on Sunday, two other vessels entered the same port with arms and ammunition, the number and quantity of which we have not yet ascertained. These four vessels and two others arrived on our Atlantic coast under convoy of the Confederate steamer Nashville. One of the latter is represented to have been captured by the blockading squadron off Wilmington, N. C. The remaining vessel and the Nashville are hovering somewhere on our extensive coast. The authority on which we make these statements informs us that the whole number of arms afloat on these seven vessels was 40,000.--Knoxville Register, 31st ult.
