Col. Lamar.

--We are extremely sorry to hear that Col. Lamar (12th Miss. Volunteers) is but slowly recovering from an attack of paralysis experienced of late in camps before the enemy on the Charles City road. This is the second attack which this gifted orator and scholar has experienced within a brief period, depriving a common country of his services. Yet we hope his recovery may prove certain, and that the Confederate Senate may be as highly adorned by his presence in times to come as were the old legislative halls of the United States.
