Gen. Jeff. Thompson's Rifle.

--Referrals case in yesterday's Dispatch to the fact that a number of the friends of the above distinguished General presented him with a splendid Southern in token of their appreciation of his to resist Northern aggression. The correspondence, which took place on an occasion will be perused with interest by our :

Harboring within our hearts. The appreciation of the service you have rendered the confederate States, we firmly request of you the acceptance of this rifle as a residence of the same.
