Death of a good man.

--Rev. Daniel Zollickoffer, of Carroll county, Md., deceased recently at an advanced age. He was the son of a Swiss noble, who had been bred to arms in the French service, and came over to help the colonies in their struggle with the mother country. John Conrad Zollickoffer, the father, received his commission from the Governor of North Carolina; but after the war settled in Baltimore, where he died. The subject of this notice was, at the time of his death, the oldest member of his family in this country — of which the late Gen. Felix K. Zollickoffer was one--and was, by courtesy, Baron Zollickoffer, of St. Gauls, Switzerland. He received an annuity from that country in virtue of this dignity, which passes now, with the baronetcy, to the oldest surviving male member of the family — the son of a brother, the late distinguished Dr. William Zollickoffer.
