--The police on Saturday, and the night of that day, arrested a number of parties, who were deposited in the cage for the night; but, being under the ban of the law for such offences as drunkenness, firing pistols in the street, and disorderly conduct, were let out yesterday morning by the Mayor, there being no means of warming the cells of the cage, and it being far too cold to keep them in without artificial heat.
