Arrest of an Alleged Swindles.

--Detectives Capehart and Thomas, of the Eastern Military Station arrested yesterday, by order of Gen. Winder, a bogus Captain named Wm. Murphy, who is charged with engaging in the substitute business and swindling, by receiving men into a company that had no existence, and granting discharges therefrom — The officers found Murphy in front of a store on 17th st., and arrested him, but he into the store, the door of which was closed by two cronies Murphy then fled out of a rear door and took up the railroad pursued by the officers, who finally chased him across Adams's Valley, and captured him hid away under the bank of the in rear of Mrs. Bruce's former residence.
