Government horses.

--On yesterday a notice was posted on the door of the "Staff Stables," on Valentine's lot, that all officers, having horses there must have them groomed and fed by their own servants, and that all horses used by the Departments must be employed on official duty, during which time, according to army regulations, the riders would be considered couriers, and groom and otherwise attend to their own horses. Officers keeping horses at the Staff Stables were directed to furnish servants to attend to them, and the keeper was directed to turn over to Assistant Quartermaster Wood all spare hands as teamsters. These orders, if obeyed, will save a considerable item of expense to the Government.
