--About 12 o'clock on Thursday, James Jordan, a member of company C, (Capt. J. Coker,) 32d regiment N C. State Troops, on duty in front of the Quartermaster general's office, was taken suddenly all with a violent chill, which necessitated his removal to his barracks at 2 o'clock. He died in a few hours.
