--Since Saturday the river has fallen at least twelve feet. All danger of a freshet is now obviated.
The citizens for two days past have been compelled to have recourse to the city pumps, erected by order of the City Council last year, the water having encroached on the pump- house, and compelled a suspension of labor in that vicinity.
With a disappearance of the flood the wheels will be set in motion again.
