Steam fire engines.

--Since the substitution of steam fire engines in Baltimore the losses by fire have been almost reduced to nil. Last year the insurances ran up to $120,000,000, while the absolute losses by fire did not exceed $15,000, and this in a city of at least 220,000 inhabitants!
