Civil authority is the Military.
--We hear that a question involving the most delicate relations between the civil and military authorities will be discussed to-morrow before Judge Meredith
A youth, not 17 years old, a member of Capt. W. W. Parker
's company, was some time since regularly discharged on a habeas corpus,
and has since been arrested by Capt. Parker
, and put in the guard house.
The counsel, Mr. J. H. Gilmer
, we learn has given notice that on to-morrow he will make a motion for a rule to show cause why Capt. W. W. Parker
shall not be fined and attached for this contempt of Court.
This will present the question of all others most important at this time: Is the civil authority, in its proper sphere, superior is the military?
We doubt not that it will be learnedly considered, and judiciously decided by Judge Meredith
