Training Negroes to head.
--About thirty years ago, when the Abolitionists began to circulate their incendiary publications through the mail, on act was passed by the Georgia Legislature making it penal for white persons to teach negroes to read.
An appeal having been made to the public a few months ago, by some ministers and others interested in the religions instruction of the slaves, a bill was introduced in the Georgia Senate, at the present session, to repeal this prohibition, which passed a few days ago by a vote of 18 to 16.
