Mayor's Court, Friday April 24.

--James Gaum ley, a resident of Solitude on Cary street, was arraigned for beating his wife in an unmerciful manner. His office was clearly established, and defendant was required to give security in the sum of $100 for his good behavior. It having Jeered our during the examination that there was a quantity of in the house, for whose possession could not satisfactorily account, the examination in regard to that was continued until Monday.

The other cases before the Mayor were not worth mentioning, comprising, as they did, darkies without papers, drunken while men on the sidewalk, &c.
