--Mr. Joseph Holt, residing near Bacon Quarter Branch, was drowned in the canal Saturday, while on his way to the river to fish.
His body was recovered and carried to his residence.
Mr. H. was a very respectable citizen, about 40 years of age, and leaves a wife and several children.
