Sabbath Violators are frequently called before the Mayor and made to pay heavily for failing to respect that day. To prevent the spread of intemperance all bar-rooms are required to keep closed doors and suspend operations on Sunday, and the proprietors of such as fail to do so, as they fall under the eyes of the police, are sure to be fined. Yesterday the city treasury was somewhat increased in value by the addition of lager beer and other liquid profits, collected in the way of fines for Sabbath violations.
