The Governor's proclamation,

requiring all business hope as in the city to close at a certain hour in the afternoon, to enable the militia to drill, is only partially carried out, and consequently operates unjustly in certain cases. With that portion of our business men who love home and country above dollars and cents the order is rigidly observed. With another portion, who strive and care only for the Almighty dollar, the proclamation is disregarded, and their gales and profits are increased by it. Will not the Governor take steps to enforce his proclamation, or withdraw it altogether? Justice to the patriotic merchant demands this much.
