Poisoning fruits

--No depredation on property, however great, is any justification for the poisoning of fruits and vegetables in orchards and gardens. If there was any occurrence that thieves only would be killed, it would matter but little; but the lives of honest persons may be lost by the practice, as thieves often steal to sell and not to use. Any person causing death by poisoning fruits are guilty of murder, and would so be held by the courts of justice.
