From Charleston.

Charleston, Oct. 21st.
--The Congressional elections passed off quietly yesterday. There being no opposition to Hon. Wm. Porcher Miles in the 2d district, he was unanimously re-elected.

Affairs as usual at the batteries.

Charleston, Oct. 21.
--A reconnoitering party of the enemy, in barges, was discovered near Fort Sumter last night, between 12 and 1 o'clock, and driven off with grape-shot.

No change at the batteries. Yankee officers on horseback were observed to-day inspecting the works on Morris Island.
