Garroting.

--A young gentleman appeared at the Mayor's Court yesterday and complained to the officers that he had been robbed the night before. He stated that he stopped at a drinking-house, treated, and took several drinks, and then started up town; but that he had only gone a short distance when some one approached behind him, seized him around the throat and choking him nearly helpless snatched his shaw and other articles of value and ran off. The officers hope to get hold of this operator in the course of a few days, unless he pulls up stakes and travels.
