--At an early hour yesterday morning the stable of Mr. Macmurdo, near 8th and Marshall streets, and in rear of the Richmond, Fredericksburg and Potomac Railroad Depot, was discovered to be on fire, and the alarm bells soon called out the firemen to the scene of conflagration. When the machines reached the depot the brick stable was entirely enveloped, and the flames were threatening an adjoining kitchen and lumber-house; but by extraordinary exertions they were overcome and prevented from spreading. Mr. Macmurdo lost several bales of hay and oats. The fire is supposed to have been caused by the burning through of a chimney, from which the flames reached the hay in the stable and spread with great rapidity. Loss about $3,000.
