The markets.

--There was no improvement in the markets yesterday morning. Very little was offered for sale, and that little was held at exorbitant prices. Indifferent beef was exhibited at three dollars per pound, and other fresh meats ranged at higher figures. In some instances as high as eight dollars per pound was asked for good butter. If our readers will do with as little of these articles as possible for a few days, doubtless some reduction will take place.
