A Point at law.

--A young man, named Leslie C. Craig, was yesterday arrested on a warrant gotten out by John A. Hicks, of this city, charging him with stealing a gold watch from W. C. Murdoch. The complainant alleges that during the illness of Murdoch, who has since died, Craig was frequently with him, and a short time before his death took possession of his watch. --Hicks having recently been appointed curator over the effects of Murdoch, made a the accused for the watch belonging to the his to obtain possession of it procured the warrant which led to his arrest.

On the other hand, Craig, the accused, avers that himself and Murdoch had always been intimate friends, that during his illness he was unremitting in his attentions, and that the watch in dispute was given him as a present by the deceased a few days before his death. He utterly repudiates the charge of theft which has been made against him, and calls for the strictest investigation of the matter, feeling certain that it will result in his entire exoneration from crime.
