--Eli Phlegar, a prominent citizen of Montgomery county, Va., died at his residence in Christiansburg on Saturday morning last.
Mr. P. was a candidate for Commissioner of the Board of Public Works at the election a few days since, but died before the result was ascertained.
He was a lawyer of high standing at the bar in Southwestern Virginia.
He was about fifty years old.
