and Joseph Pearman
, two little boys between eight and ten years of age, were before the Mayor
yesterday on the charge of entering the shop of Mrs. Drumheiler
, on Broad street, and stealing $24 from the money drawer.
It appeared that the boys entered the store on Friday and stole the money, and then ran off. Pearman
was caught in a few minutes afterwards by officer Kelly
and searched, but no money found on him. Dolan
was not caught till Sunday morning. During the examination Dolan
said that Pearman
stole the money and concealed it in his boot, and that he had it there when officer Kelly
searched him. The Mayor
not wishing to sent the children to jail handed them over to their respective parents, who were present.
