--The Federals have taken possession of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Memphis and have converted it into soldiers'barracks.
This house was built by the congregation just-before the war began, and is one of the largest and most costly buildings be longing to the denomination.
The Pastor, Rev. C. A. Davis, was holding regular services in the Church, up to the time it was seized.
