An Appeal for the wounded.

We earnestly invoke our citizens to do all in their power for the comfort and relief of the wounded soldiers, who are in the city and are constantly arriving. These brave men have been perilling their lives in the defence of this city, and merit our gratitude. We cannot do too much for them. Our citizens have given the noblest examples of their patriotism and humanity in this war, and we know it is only necessary to call their attention to the fact that the wounded now here are much in need of attention and suitable provisions, to ensure their active exertions, to give the proper succor and assistance.
