Cabell's Battalion artillery.

Hanover Junetian May 27, 1864.
To the Editor of the Dispatch:

I see it stated in some of the journals that Cabell's battalion of artillery in the present campaign lost heavily in men and guns. Allow me, through the columns of year valuable journal, to contradict this. Although we have been actively engaged with the enemy in every on our lines, and though we have been posted in the front line of from the commencement of the first in the Wilderness to the present time, we have lost no gun, and thanks to our excellent works, but few men.

Our battalion consists of batteries, all under command of Col N C Cubell. The following is a list of casualties:

Manley's (N C) Battery — Killed: Private L Wounded: H seriously through shoulder.

Artillery — Killed: A Lee and L Porter. Wounded: Lt Thee A severely in foot; J W Belsher, thigh J W secretary in in arm.
