A Confederate scout Murdered.

--R. H. Cotton, of Texas, a Confederate scout, has recently been captured by the Yankees and shot. Cotton was some time since arraigned before the Mayor of this city on the charge of kidnapping negroes, and offering them for sale as his own property; but the evidence failing to establish his guilt, he was promptly discharged. Afterwards he entered our service as a scout, which occupation he performed with considerable success up to the time of his capture.
