--Fresh butter was offered in the Second Market yesterday at eleven and twelve dollars per pound, with few buyers. Conscious that those in the country who make butter for sale are at no expense this season of the year to feed their cows, people are determined not to submit to the extortionate demands of holders, and they will therefore still have to lower their prices two or three dollars per pound before the article can readily be disposed of Eight and ten dollars are the figures it will have to be sold at, and those who bring it to market had as well come down to them at once.
