Heavy bond.

--In the Hustings Court yesterday Henry K. Ellyson, Esq, executed his official bond, in the penalty of $1,500,000, for the faithful performance of his duties as Sheriff of the city of Richmond. His sureties were Messrs Chas. Campbell, A. F. Harvey, Thomas H. Wayne, Jesse F. Keesee, Alfred King, Thomas J. Evans, John F. Regnault, Jackson B. Wood, Wm. B. Jones, Wm. A. Arstead, O. H. Chalkley, and E. Gathright. As usual in such cases, the Justices commenced swearing them as to the amount of property they possessed, but had not proceeded far before they became fully satisfied of their responsibility, and the proceedings were therefore discontinued.--Four of these gentlemen announced the value of their property at $1,200,000. The aggregate wealth of all the sureties was estimated at $5,000,000.

Messrs. Jackson B. Wood and William H. Pleassants qualified as deputies.
