Serious accident.

--A young man named James H. Corning accidentally shot himself in the lower part of his stomach yesterday afternoon while hunting in the neighborhood of the city. Sitting down on a log to rest himself, he laid his gun on the ground beside him, and when he got up the trigger caught against the twig of a tree and pulled down the hammer, which was at half-cock, discharging the weapon, inflicting the wound above described. He was brought to his father's residence, near the Baptist College, soon after the accident, and surgical attendance called in.
